Help! Can I put a cotton binding on a flannel quilt?
I just got my quilt back from the quilter and think that a flannel, folded binding would be to thick, but i am not sure what a cotton binding would look like.

I've put cotton binding on a minkee quilt - it looked just fine.

I do it all the time. just be sure not to pull to hard on the binding while stitching it on.

I will still look great. The only one who will notice is you. :-)

I have done it without any problems. I used flannel for binding a quilt that I made. It was cotton top, warm/natural batting and fleece backing. I used flannel for the binding and it worked out okay. I used 2 1/2 inch wide strips.

I've put flannel on a flannel quilt also. I did make the binding 3" and then put it together like usual. Trim seam even and stitch down. Be sure & use walking foot. They really work great!
