binding that has a faux flange
I saw a video that showed how to bind a quilt so that it looked like a flange was incorporated in the binding seam. I saved it but it is gone (I'm thinkin' I've been robbed). I don't even know if it originated on this site, but probably it did.
Can anyone quide me to it, please. |
search faux flange here on the quilting board. BeckySt posted it.

I like Charisma's tutorial on Quick Machine binging with flange.

For a 21/2@inch binding .cut main binding 11/4inch the contrast is bigger 13/4 inch . Try a small section. I am right hat the contrast is larger. I still sew from the back in normal way. Choice is to sew on the Lange seam and match at back. Some of my friends find this difficult and use a fancy stitch.

Everyone does these in different sizes. I have one on my blog and had people say the sizes were wrong. I had made quite a few quilt bindings using that technique and it worked perfect for me, and I told them, but the argued with me, so I told them to google it and find it elsewhere. It's funny how people get something in their head and think that there is only one way of doing something.

My preferred binding is one with a flange. If you pick the right colors, it can really enhance your quilt I use Charisma's method & it ismy favorite.
