I have a question about what to use for the binding colors in my quilt. I am making a Christmas paper pieced quilt and there are many colors in the quilt. I have a striped colored fabric that has all the colors in it that I was going to use for the binding or do I go with a fabric that was already used in the quilt? Any suggestions??

I personally like the stripe for a binding. I have one of my quilts finished this way and it really adds to the quilt.
So it would look okay if that fabric is not in the quilt at all?
Definatly ok. I use a stripe for the binding when ever I can.
My most favorite binding was a striped one I did on the bias. Looks terrific! And the fabric doesn't have to have been used in the quilt; just so it coordinates.
Great!! I will try it on the bias that is what I was going to do. I will let everyone know how it turns out. Thanks so much!!

I think it would be beautiful with the striped binding.
I like the idea of using stripes.
lneal your's is beautiful. |
I usually add a fabric not in the quilt. Usually because I don't have enough leftover. As long as it works. I did a various shades of blue table runner and bound in yellow. The boyfriend questioned but it was beautiful when it was done.

Ooooo that is going to be a beautiful binding :D:D:D
I will post pictures when I am done. I am definitely going with the striped now!!!
i audition fabrics for the binding when i finish the quilt. i don't always use what i had originally picked for the binding. i'll lay out the ones i'm considering and then lay the quilt on them so only about 1/2 inch shows so i can get an idea of what i like best. Stand back and see what works.

oh thats beautiful,love the colors.
