Hi, I need help with ending my binding. I've been quilting for several years and believe it or not, have not mastered ending my binding. Help!!!
|
I've been sewing for years also and haven't mastered it. I did find a binding tool by Fons and Porter and it works wonders. I was leary when I bought it, but it works great and it isn't expensive.

I use this method, once you try it, you'll never have a problem ending your binding again!!!

I think this is the same method as athenagwis posted, but it is a video. I love this way to finish the binding, no special tool is required. |
Thank you.
That is so much simpler than the way I had been struggling with. |

this is the way I do mine, easy peasy
one thing I do, is put a pin where I am going to sew to check that I have it layered correctly. Sometimes on end gets twisted so I like to double check (same as measure twice, cut once)

You are both welcome!! I was so happy I found that tutorial because it made ending the binding correctly so much easier. I used to end it with a straight seam, which made it lumpy and obvious where it ended. This is so much better!

I have a thread about binding that I started awhile back and please add links to it when you find them, thanks

Thanks to the video found on this thread, I have been able to whip through binding on 5 blocks, at about 30 minutes each to machine stitch both sides. The mitered corners look great, and it really is easy to do. Only 7 more to go! Thanks again for taking time to find and post this information

the videos help me ...there are several similar out there. I watched this,. then did a pretty good job of it next time...was a little tricky combining ends at first (cut too short) , but the corners came out great... |
Try this link!

I've been using the Sharon Schamber method, but this seems a bit quicker for the ending piece. I've got a couple ready to bind, so this weekend, I will be trying it out. Thanks for sharing!
