Okay, this is annoying me. I am making a tablerunner from a pattern and the pattern has as the last step...

-back, quilt and bind as you prefer

Fine, but what about those of us who are new to this?? :?: :(

I know that I cut and use strips that are 2.5 inches for a regular quilt binding. I "assume" that the binding for a tablerunner would be narrower, but is that right? and how wide? 1.5 strips?

I know that I can do it any way I want to, but what is standard usually? Thanks in advance! :D

Try several different widths (just folded fabric, not stitched down) and see what looks best to you. You may find that a 'regular' binding looks great or you may find that a narrower one looks better, or even that a wider binding would suit you better. Just try it and see what you like best.
