Birthday Themed Blocks?
 

I've got a bunch of birthdays coming up and wanted to make a Happy Birthday table runner. Has anyone seen any cute birthday cake blocks? I prefer pieced over applique, and do not want to use the standard birthday cake block that uses all those half-square triangles. Thanks!

That's cute! There's also a present block which would work. I've done lots of searches on Google and Pinterest, but keep coming up with same two or three designs. I might have to come up with something original, which is not necessarily a bad thing!
