JoAnn's and sign up for their mailer while you're there for great coupons!

Don't know which fabric chains (Hancocks, JoAnns, etc.) have stores in Canada. Some Walmarts carry fabrics and some don't. (1) Check your yellow pages under "fabrics". You might even find a good local quilt store (LQS). (2) Ask your librarian to help you. S/he might even know about an area guilting guild which would could launch your quilting debut with all kinds of advice. Many quilters have to drive long distances to get their fabric, and that may be the case for you. And online, of course. Many, many fabrics and notions at your fingertips. Good luck.

In our area we have Fabricland. Joanns and Hancocks carry so much more fabric and notions, and so much cheaper.
