I have some that is very very dark, but I don't think it is black, and there is subtle variation to it.

love it bought a bolt of it

i have solid regular cotton fabric, and i have some black with grey swirls batik, but that is it........how would you know it was batik if it was solid black? now you have me wondering........gina

I have never been able to buy batiks but I do buy a lot of black. I love the look it can give by using it for sashings and borders.

I haven't used black very much, but do love to add black and white polka dots to quilts, mostly my scrap quilts, really makes them sparkle

Yes, and it is a great contrast to the other stuff, and it's Hoffman's.

I use Amish black from Keepsake quilting.
I have used alot of different black fabrics. I love the way it makes color pop. |

They have a color called "Raven", and it is probably the most boring selection of all, because it's... just black... and not much variation in shade at all.
And so I'm asking, do you have any black "solid" batik in your stash? |
I have a little bit of black batik, but I don't make batik quilts that often, so I use Kona Cotton in black quite often. And, just as in batiks, you can use either side... love that!

Haven't used a lot of batiks yet, although they are calling, but I use a lot of black in general, and I love a quilt with a black background, so expect at some time I will.
