I was going to use black batting one time but the cats peeled the quit top back and shredded it. So that was the end of that.

I've used black batting on several quilts with dark and bright fabrics. You need to make sure that it won't show through your fabrics on the front though. I was going to use it on a purple, green, black, and cobalt blue batik quilt, but it showed through the purple.
