Do you ever use black batting? I am not very experienced.
I made a full size quilt using some black blocks & very dark green for the backing. Took it to long arm quilter (a first) with Warm & Natural cream colored batting.

LAQ explained (& showed me) what would happen if I used the cream
batting: little fuzzies would come through the stitching areas. I was
horrified! She swapped out black Warm & Natural for me & it turned out fine.

PS: I would send a picture, but still have not conquered how to do that.

i used black batting in my black wool quilt...didn't want fiber migration to show through. i use white batting when my quilt has alot of white, natural when lots of light color and black when it is a very dark quilt.

Yes, I use black batting when making a very dark quilt. I have never had a problem with it and it definitely takes care of the white fuzzies!

I just finished quilting a customer's quilt which had dark to medium color fabrics with black backing. I used Hobb's Black 80/20. It quilted up lovely. This is not the first time that I have used the black batting. I prefer to use the black with dark quilts, the natural with most quilts, and the bleached 80/20 with quilts that contain a lot of white fabrics. I have never seen the migration through the backing using the different battings.

Yes my husband insisted on black batting in his quilt . Just a preference in my opinion, I use white for everything now since we buy it in bulk.

I have some black batting, purchased at a longarm show, to use for future quilts (half-planned) that will be dark, but so far none of my quilts have been dark enough to require it.
