Bless all of you who make quilts for other people's children. The quilts are magical because of all the prayers and good wishes stitched into them.

I was Philadelphia Project Linus coordinator for 4 years. I have a whole scrapbook full of thank you notes from grateful moms and dads and grans.

Many quiltmakers wonder what happens to the quilts they donate and whether the kids even like them. In my experience, the kids love the bright colorful fun fabrics and are comforted by their soft quilts. But the families are especially touched by all the work and love that went into their child's quilt, from the hands of a perfect stranger.

Just know that you are making the world a warmer place for sick and traumatized kids, one stitch at a time!

I'd like to be amble to hand out my quilts to the children one of these days. Mostly I like to work behind the scenes and let everyone else get the glory. I get mine by sewing the top together. I never feel like I need a thank you for what I am doing 'cause the most important person of all to me already knows everything.

I enjoy making things and giving them away. I especially enjoyed making the quilts for kids! It was such a good feeling sewing the label on and shipping it out!

At times I wonder if the person received it was happy with it, but I am quite sure that receiving it just made them feel "special".

Thank you for sharing this with us!

Oh, thanks, that warms the cockles of my heart. Years ago I made balnkets for the Linus project and often wondered what may have happened to them.

I wish I had more time to do more volunteer work and charity quilts. Last year I did two for the animal shelter, but work, kids, pets get in the way. Ineed to find some time to do Project Linus, I think thosetypes of charitys are WONDERFUL!
