block exchange quilt ideas

I need ideas as to how to put together blocks from our quilt guild block exchange. The blocks are all the same size but different colors and designs.
Thank you

maybe if you could post some pictures it would be easier to give suggestions? Organize by colour or design, sashing or not?

Check out the photos on the Boomerang Swaps. That may give you some ideas. You can find photos of the finished quilts here: Click on "completed quilts" in the top bar.

Sashing is probably what I'll tie it all together with. Thank you

Agree .... really hard for us to give suggestions, without a clue as to what they are like. Or what size.

You could look at Sampler Quilts and take note of the settings used.
I keep a file of Sample Settings that I can go to for ideas when needed.

Good Luck!

A friend had beautiful results when each block (from a block exchange) was framed with four triangles to make the blocks on point. All the framing was done in the same fabric, so that color unified all the different colored blocks. If the blocks are directional and you don't want the blocks on point, you can frame them this way twice, which puts them right side up again.

Here are some tops I've made out of random blocks using different sashing...

and there is another with black and white hour glasses between each block. Hope it helps!

Nice kitzy! I love the simple white sashing to feature the blocks like an art gallery.
I tend to use solid color sashing with cornerstones and then borders. Or fabrics that "read" solid.
