I wish I knew the name of the pattern, it is so lovely. I tried Google but there is nothing I found exactly like it. Hope someone else can help.

Did you search quilters cache?

Get out the graph paper ... and, I hope you are better at it than I am ... I am such a pattern follower ... good luck finding the name and directions and be sure to share when you do.

According to the blog where that photo was originally posted, the star is the 18" center medallion of a 2005 pattern called Monterrey Medallions designed by Terry Atkinson.

You've got the pattern for the block right in front of you. Get a piece of graph paper and start transfering lines. OR take the pic to a copier, print a copy onto card stock, cut the pieces apart and transfer to another piece of card stock leaving the necessary 1/4" allowance on all sides.

Beautiful block and pattern. I have seen it before, even like the colors used.

I don't know the name of it but I sure do love it! The colors are so soothing & the points are perfect!

Thanks for all the kind comments about my block. As previously mentioned by ghostrider, yes, the block is from the book Monterrey Medallions by Terry Atkinson, Atkinson Designs. Two versions of various blocks are shown in the book, and this block was the "challenge" version of the center star. The quilt was great fun to make, plus a little stomach churning. It was my one-and-only all neutral quilt, and the final version of the quilt (before quilting) is show in my blog post http://quiltsandamug.blogspot.com/20...-quilting.html.
