Block Name?

Does this scrappy block have a name?
I imagine it can be made any size but wondered what would be the most practical - perhaps the centre strip could be 2.5 inches. A good way to use up jelly rolls. |
I don't know but I love it and the fabrics too.
Looking at it from here it looks like it may be a challenge to line everything up? |
I don't know the name of it either but I am making a very similar block. Mine has only 1 strip of white in the middle of the square.
|
I love it and the fabric but I would probably pull my hair out trying to match it!
|
I make small charity quilts and don’t stress too much when things don’t match up - but it’s nice when they do!
I tell myself the recipients won’t be bothered. |
Don’t know the name of the block, but the method looks like a tube quilt. Google tube quilt and you’ll get a ton of free tutorials, fabric placement is key and you can achieve many different designs.

It's the Double Crossed pattern by Amy Smart.

It looks very similar to this weeks MSQC block that Jenny called Brick Yard. Pretty blocks!

This pattern is 'Double Crossed' by Amy Smart.

I think it will be beautiful. Lots of matching to do on the intersections. Make sure all are the same size and that will make it easier.
|
Will be a great quilt, love your colors.
|
I agree with Tartan. I saw Jenny's tutorial this week. Doesn't seem to be much matching at all.

I've made this quilt. The matching isn't too bad as long as you are careful with your 1/4" seams.

Here is a mock up of what I'm doing with this block in a modified form. and a second version that will be used somewhere down the road
