Block using 10" squares
I have seen a pattern on line where you layer two 10” squares. Cut all four sides. Then you swap out the center squares. I think there is even a way to adjust the measurements so the square is not always in the middle. Can anyone find this pattern for me? If I knew what it was called I know I could find it online. IN a hurry to make a couple Halloween quilts for Project Linus. Thanks for helping! ;)

sounds like some variation of a stack and slash quilt. you could start there and see if anything looks similar or otherwise appealing.

Was it something like the Mosaic Quilt from Donna Jordans website?
This is the one I made one for a queen/king size bed - My Mosaic Quilt. You layer the two 10" squares together and then cut them randomly, then sew them together with a piece of sashing and then line up two more cut them again - doing randomly again, not cutting them in even squares --- then sew again with another sashing strip, it makes it look like Mosaic tiles. |
Donna Jordan has 2 more on her site. The last one is probably the one that you were originally referring to.

Wow, this is super timely! I just got a Halloween layer cake to make throws for my 2 grands. Some of the fabric is glow in the dark, called Tiny Frights by Ruby Star Society.
Thank you! |
