I want to THANK everyone for the suggestons & replies. I tried so many I finally gave up.
I called my friend last night & she said not worry, that she probably wouldn't even notice the blue lines. So I hope to get it in the mail today. Again... a huge THANKS to everyone :). Feather3 |

Yes she is my Blue & Gold Macaw. Her name is JaJaBinks & she will be 16 in January. I got her at 2 years of age. Previous owners abused her. She's a great bird. Super silly & fun loving & very bonded to me.

I used a Dritz Mark-Be-Gone washable blue marker. It washed out every where else & I had many many blue marks on this quilt. I have tried cold water, alcohol, peroxide, a peroxide/baking soda/dawn mix, vinegar, etc. None worked. I think I made the mistake of ironing the mitered corners. I purchased the Blue Line Eraser product & it won't even take the blue lines out :(. I have washed the quilt 5 times. I made it for a friend, who lives several states away & need to get it shipped soon. The fabric & thread are both 100% cotton & are a cream color that has the blue lines. See photo. My solution hasn't been mentioned yet ... art stores sell markers for fabric or paint that comes out in a pen (I don't know how else to explain it) ... if you bring in a scrap of the fabric, you could test the paint on it, and see which one hides it
It would be permanent, and at least it would hide the blue. I'm so sorry you're experiencing this ... I'd be very ticked at myself too!!!! On the plus side, it really isn't noticeable from 3 feet away!!! |

I got the brown out once by putting 4 gallons of white vinegar and cold water (enough water to just cover quilt) in my washing machine. I let it soak. Agitating only with my hands. When it appeared to be all out, I rinsed it in cold water two times agitating only with my hands but spinning it out. It neutralized the brown marks -they came out. I googled "how to get brown marks out of quilt" and it gave me directions for the white vinegar and water. It saved mine,

Find a friend who uses Melaleuca products and see if they will let you try the Sol-U-Mel. It is terrific so so many things.

I would call the Blue Line Eraser company and let them know the product did not take out the blue marks. I think that will be something they would want to know and maybe find out why it didn't. It is advertised as will work but you have proof it doesn't.
