Save the umbrellas for a rainy day... stick to the blue and brown for this project
|
I would say blue first, then the brown , I like the umbrella fabric but have to agree not for a big border. I have had things like that and used them for the binding . you get the colors without the patterns and use it on the back.

I agree with the others. Nix the umbrellas and do narrow blue border and wider brown one. Will be lovely. show us when you finish. :-)

I agree with the choice of a narrow blue, then a bit wider brown. I think the umbrellas are to busy for the rest of your quilt

I would use the blue and then the brown.

I agree with the white first then use both brown and blue.

Just a thought but see what a narrow navy blue 1st border would look like. It's just me but I like to stop the pattern and then maybe add it after the 1st frame.
There is quite a study on how to know where quilters live - you can tell it by the way they choose their borders. No kidding. Just like the Amish - different solid colors and patterns per region. I don't have the info on that any longer but it is quite interesting. I like your quilt - that blue and brown with the white is so calming. |
I like a thin blue and a wide brown border. I don't care for the umbrellas as a border fabric, but, if you have enough, maybe use it as your back.

I think the brown should be your large outer border, and I think a smaller strip of the blue would make a great inner border. I don't like the umbrellas with those blocks.
