? Bobbin case
MY FRIEND TOOK HER JANOME DC 2014 IN TO REPAIR SHOP. She lost her bobbin case and was trying to find a new one. She was told that her machine, and newer makes, do not use one. So how does the bobbin stay in place? I have not heard of such a thing??

Is it a drop in bobbin by chance? I know some of my machines have drop in bobbins, especially some of the newer ones and the majority of my older machines have bobbin cases. Just a thought.

i've had many drop-in bobbin machines over the years.
both of my current machines have them. they do have removable bobbin cases. the cases just look very different to the metal cases that load the bobbin sideways. check the manual that came with her machine. the answer will be there. |
Your bobbin part # is627569106 it is available here
https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bo...27569106.aspx? https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bo...iant_id=282466 one is the aftermarket part, one is the OEM, it's only a 6 dollar difference. |
I have 3 machines with drop-in bobbins, and they all have a case/holder, just not the same as side or front loading machines. They are black plastic and do need to be taken out occasionally to clean dust bunnies from below. Have looked at this one on line and the bobbin set-up seems the same as my Brothers. Can't imagine a sewing machine without a bobbin holder of some kind.

I checked the manual for this machine. It definitely has a bobbin holder
which looks like this. https://www.poconosewandvac.com/prod...ase-(standard) |
So many repair people are stubborn and think they know it all about any machine. I know from experience most get mad when they find out the customer knows more and can prove it. One Featherweight man was very put out when he tried to sell me a led light for my featherweight. I told him it wouldn't fit because I had the 'white one'. He about laughed in my face. I brought my machine in and said go ahead put the light in. He couldn't, didn't fit. He said he never knew that. If you find a good repair shop you are blessed.
