the streachy stuff they use to hold the cotton ball on your arm after you give blood works wonderful to cut into thin strips and put it on my bobbin keeps the thread from going every where
cheap cheap cheap |
What a great idea. So inventive. Where do you get it?
|
Another thing that works really well is the little girl pony holders. You can buy a whole bag of them for a buck at Family Dollar and color coordinate them with your thread colors.
|
That's a great idea! I would imagine it works just as well on embroidery thread also since they seem to slink off the notch in the spool so easy.

i cut 5/8" clear rubber tubing..

I found two websites that sell the "curly comb spines". You can get it in clear plastic. Check it out. Hope this helps.

I will bet kinkos sells them to...thanks for the websites!
I think i would glue it down on a piece of wood..otherwise it would be pretty flimsy |
If you didn't pay a fortune for your thimble, take a hammer and whack it so it becomes a slightly oval shape at the bottom. It will fit your finger perfect and not fall off.
|
Staples sells the plasctic spines, lots of different sizes and colors.
|
These are really cool ideas. I definitely think I'll be doing something along these lines.

I think I got about 32 or so rings out of the foot. I love the book spine idea, maybe one day when I have more room! lol |
I got the tubing at a local familt style hardware.it comes in all widths..the half inch may work better..mine are a little big,but work just fine..and so cheap too!
|
Well for petes sake who would have thunk it, I too have had problems with bobbins, I have bought the little pony tail thingys from dollar tree, have tried a few other things to numerous to mention and nothing that I was happy with. Even its own little box. Now who would have thought to use a binder? That is way to cool. You gals are to much.
Thanks Rita S |
Ohhh, thank you for sending a picture of the clear tubing, I now know what to do. I am a picture person not a read and understand person, so now I know what you did. Thanks so much.
