Gave mine away. I just use my machine and wind multiple bobbins at the start of a project. I didn't feel the sidewinder wound tight enough.

I used to use it a lot, but then I bought a new Pfaff and those bobbins won't fit on the Sidewinder. With my new machine I have to unthread the needle to fill a bobbin. With my old New Home machine I could fill a bobbin without using the thread on the spindle or unthreading the needle.

I have one and use it sometimes, but there are some bobbins that won't fit on the spindle.

I have one of the original Side Winders. I can only wind my Bernina bobbins on it, doesn't work with my Pfaff bobbins as the spindle for the bobbin is too big.

I love it. I usually wind 15 bobbins at a time. I sew on my 201 hand crank, so winding bobbins is a little tedious on the machine.

I guess it depends on the model of the machine. My Brother, Janome, Brother, and Singer bobbins all fit and wind tight and smooth. They are all older machines. I have scores of each bobbin pre wound thanks to all the helpers I have in my sewing room. I keep the empty bobbins in a bin as I use them.

I am planning to order some prewound bobbins from Superior Threads when they have a sale again.
