I've recently acquired a Singer 201. I thought I'd read that it took the same bobbins as the Featherweight, but even if they can be used for sewing, my (modern) FW ones won't go on the 201's bobbin winder spindle. The 201 bobbins have a little hole right up against the centre of the bobbin, that fits onto the spindle, and the FW ones don't have this in the same place. (hope you can understand that explanation!)
Does anyone know where I can get 201 bobbins? |
You can get them here:
http://shop.sew-classic.com/Bobbins-...SCBN172222.htm I recently ordered some from them--good prices, fast delivery. I was very pleased. Good assortment of attachments, etc. |

The 201 takes class 66 bobbins, like the ones in the link. The featherweight bobbins are completely different and won't fit in a 201 bobbin case.

Featherweight bobbins won't work in a 201. They can be purchased online at the link given above, or you should be able to buy them at Joann's, Hancocks, or other fabric store.

I think you confused a 201 with the 301. The 301 uses Featherweight bobbins. Class 66 bobbins for the 201 are readily available and most sewing machine dealers carry them.
