Bohin White Chalk Mechanical Marking Pencil - Extra Fine

[SUB]Have any of you guys used the Bohin White Chalk Mechanical Marking Pencil - Extra Fine? I struggle with finding a way to mark my fabric that I am happy with.. so I have thought about this pencil. Any comments? Is it decent for marking fabric?[/SUB]

I have always used the white chalk wheel from Clover (use to be called the Slim line). Just NEVER use the Yellow or the Blue. The white is easy to see, quick to mark and easy to remove. Always test it out on a piece of the fabric that you are using.

yes, I love the mechanical pencil for marking on colored cloth. I use their green chalk for marking on white or off-white fabric. Have never had a problem with either chalk.

I love using the Bohin white chalk for a mechanical pencil . I've never had a problem removing it. I actually bought two generic .9mm mechanical pencils in two different colors - one for the white and another for the grey. I then buy the refills to load them up.

I love the Bohin marking pencil. I have other colors too. Use it all the time.

Thank you for your replies....I have looked at the chalk wheel from Clover, but have never tried it. I can't find one locally and I hate to pay shipping on a small item like that. Amazon has the others for free shipping with Prime

I've used both the chalk wheel and the Bohin mechanical pencil. The Bohin wins hands down. I also use a generic mechanical pencil with normal #2 lead for marking light fabrics. I think you get a much more visible line with the pencil vs the chalk wheel. I've not had an issue with the marks washing out on anything either.

I picked up mine brand new for $5 at a quilters yard sale and it's the best marking tool I've ever had for marking fine lines. She even threw in a yellow refill pack. I also have the chalk wheel but it rubs off too easily when I still need to see the marks.

I rarely mark, but when I do, I like them. I also found the Essential Sandboard from Piece o Cake really helps as it grabs the fabric, keeping it from shifting.

I have and use the chalk wheels and the bohin pencil I use both a lot. I have white, blue, pink and green fine (chalk sticks) for the pencil and the roller wheels I have in white & blue- I use them all and have never had a problem removing the chalk. just don't iron over it (heat set the color) and I do always do a little *test* before doing a lot of marking to make sure it's going to come out.
