Here is the BOM that I decided to do this year. It is for my DH. He loves anything related to the Civil War so I am positive he will love this! :)

Marjpf 01-19-2010 03:59 PM

That will be beautiful - don't forget to post pictures of the finished quilt!

momto4 01-19-2010 04:00 PM

I will. I am also going to take pics and post them on my PDA of my progress. This will be the first quilt that I "track" but i am going to start doing it with all of them... or that is my intent anyhow ;)

dakotamaid 01-19-2010 04:07 PM

Very nice, I love those civil war colors.

beachlady 01-19-2010 04:08 PM

No post them under pictures too - not just PDA. It is a beautiful quilt and very manly.

sewnsewer2 01-19-2010 04:21 PM

That's a nice pattern. It should keep you busy for awhile.

mamaw 01-19-2010 04:24 PM

That is beautiful!! I purchased some Civil War fabrics at the Maine Quilt show this summer; but haven't used them yet.

That is really beautiful! Cant wait to see what you do with it, looks hard to me.

Wow, Can't wait to see the quilt, please keep us posted on this, and good luck with the new project.

momto4 01-19-2010 05:21 PM

Thank you all very much! :) I am very excited to get it in the mail! :D

oldswimmer 01-19-2010 05:25 PM

Wow! Thats a great quilt pattern! Wish I had your ambition.
I will love to see how you are coming along! My DH wants me to make something more "traditional" for him. Maybe when I get the 4 or 5 things I have waiting to be cut and pieced!
Dont forget to post the pictures as you go!

BKinCO 01-19-2010 05:32 PM

Ha Ha Ha! I am doing the SAME quilt, only through a LQS here!!! We should keep each other sane during this saga :) I've cut out the first month (I missed the 1st class) and am waiting til I get my new machine this weekend to sew it. Cutting all those points to 1/16th of an inch was very stressful but I think it's going to be worth it!

NorBanaquilts 01-19-2010 05:34 PM

I hope you and BKinCO both posts pics as you go, it will be fun to watch them.

sewjoyce 01-19-2010 06:47 PM

OMG, I saw that BOM and thought, hmm, do I? But I haven't yet! Still thinking and drooling..... :D

BKinCO 01-19-2010 06:52 PM

BTW, the fabric in real life is so much prettier than in any of the pictures I've seen. The finished quilt is hanging in the LQS here and it had me drooling when I saw it. I didn't care how difficult the quilt was going to be to do, I HAD to make it :)

tigger5464 01-19-2010 07:50 PM

That is really pretty...Love the colors :D

momto4 01-19-2010 08:18 PM

We will definitely have to keep each other sane! :D :D Glad to have the company!

Let me know when you get your fabrics & you get the first block cut out.....I'm curious how it goes for you :)

Esqmommy 01-20-2010 06:59 AM

ooooh, pretty!! That's going to be an awesome quilt.

sewjoyce 01-20-2010 07:26 AM

OK, I just signed up for the Hearth & Home BOM -- is anyone doing this???

Candace 01-20-2010 07:29 AM

This looks like a fun project. I've never done a BOM.

littlehud 01-20-2010 07:53 AM

I love that shop. I can't wait to see your blocks and the finished quilt.

sylvia77 01-21-2010 11:21 AM

That looks like a nice sampler quilt, I'm sure he's going to love it.

I have been racking my brain as to what to make for our 50th Wedding Anniversary (Nov. 25, 2010). I would love to do a quilt that would "surprise" my husband. He is somewhat interested in Civil War stuff (though not as ardent as some). We travel to Gettysburg when we get a chance and he enjoys that. Would this BOM quilt be a good idea? Any suggestions from you would help. I had also thought about using some pictures printed out on "Printed Treasurers" for our Anniversary quilt. Open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance. Sue

Oklahoma Suzie 01-21-2010 12:28 PM

nice.

Honey 01-21-2010 02:52 PM

What a beautiful quilt! But so many little pieces! I would love to make one, but am afraid I wouldn't finish because of those pesky little pieces. I'm not a very patient person, I'm afraid!

bellegrise 01-27-2010 12:02 PM

I am on my second BOM. I did the Mystery quilt 2009 & 2010. They were both by 3 sisters, one was Peace on earth and the other was Glace. I love both of them as they are going to be very big quilts. 2009 qas a little easier than 2010.

Missi 01-27-2010 12:43 PM

I signed up to do this BOM at my LQS in December. I can't wait to start in it. We were supposed to start on it last week but the fabric was back ordered. But it sounds like we will be able to get started on them in February!!!!!

momto4 01-27-2010 01:16 PM

Mine just arrived today!!!! :D :D :D :D I just got my mail and it is FINALLY here. :) Time to get to work!

retired teacher 01-27-2010 02:37 PM

BkinCO What kind of machine did you get? Mine is about to take its last breath. I keep thinking I'll get one more project out of the dear girl but am weary of constantly repairing and crossing my fingers.

barnbum 01-27-2010 02:50 PM

Wow--I love how the blocks are different sizes. That's cool!!
