I love her website and seeing this book is what got me into buying thrift store men's shirts. Does anyone here have this book? Do you think it would be good for newish quilter? I have made a few quilts but nothing with intricate pieces.

I have looked on-line and saw lots of great ideas for using the plaids and stripes. I want to make DH and DD's FIL a quilt out of these for Christmas.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

There is a Salvation Army close by me, and every 2nd Tues. of the month, all clothing is 5 for $5. I buy all I can, and start in the big mens section for my wool & flannel! This is an awesome idea for you to try, and it will be more pocketbook friendly!Have fun!

I have this book! I love looking through it! I consider myself a beginner quilter. I actually have both of her books, but I haven't made anything yet. I am planning to make the picnic blanket out of jeans. I have plenty from my immediate family, plus my sister gave me a bag of jeans from her family, and my Mom gave me a BIG bag of jeans. I guess they were all of hers but I wonder if it has some of my Dad's in there. He passed away in 07. My girls go back to school tomorrow and I am hoping to start cutting up the jeans soon. If nothing else, I have spent hours reading the tips in both of her books and oooohhhhhiinnngg and ahhhhhiinnnnngg at Bonnie's super cool designs! So they have been worth the purchase for me! I can't wait for her third book to come out :)

I don't have any of her books (though I do want them), but I think Bonnie tries to make her patterns workable by quilters of any skill level. I follow her blog, and she sounds like a real fun gal, hope to meet her someday!

I have both of her books. I love looking through them.
She has some great patterns in them that I think could be done by all level of quilters. Her directions are step by step, and very clearly written.

Check out this blog spot. It shows how to cut the shirts to make what she calls a seven shirt quilt. I have collected and cut the shirts apart but haven't gone any further yet. It looks like an easy beginner quilt!
