Boo Hoo my brothers is in the shop!

Has anyone else had this happen to them? The small black wire that is behind the tension knob that thread is hooked thru is missing. here is a small piece of wire sticking out but most of it is gone. I am not able to thread the machine correctly. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? I was FMQ meandering, bobbin ran out and when I went to rethread the machine - NO black wire thing-a-ma-gig! I can not believe it broke off but is probably slipped behind the tension knob. Off the the repair shop it went. Of course the FMQ is not done. This machine is a Brothers 1500s so I was really flying on the FMQ!

Oh my...never had that one happen but I did get monofiliment thread caught up in there and had to take the machine apart to get it all out...that was on a singer so I don't use that thread anymore on that machine!
Hope you get your machine back soon....I hate it when you're on a roll and something breaks!! Good luck

I have had that happen before on my Brother 1500..went to the local repair store---a Viking dealer also---and he told me it would be fine without it---??? NOT...so I asked that he order me one--he said fine----never heard from them again--I called the Brother dealer that is 75 miles away...ordered 2....one for a backup--it was here in 2 days!! My husband put it
in for me and it has been fine ever since---needless I will never go back to the local repair shop---

Hopefully, you will get your machine back quickly. I have this machine and used it for awhile on a frame, but never had that happen.

I've never had that problem with mine ..... yet. I did have the head of the screw that holds the foot on just break off. My husband managed to get the rest of the screw out and find a replacement. I love my machine so I'll be watching my "black wire thing-a-ma-jig" and try not to hurt it!
