Book for blocks, Love it

I went to one of our local quilt groups open day today and saw this wonderful idea, a book for blocks!

The lady who made have made it about 18" and then cut up, in similar size pieces of cotton batting, and attached it so it looks like the pages from a book, what a wonderful way of storing blocks!

Our guild made these some years ago. I may still have the pattern. I'll post it if I find it. I think it was a popular quilt project at Paducah one year.

What a great idea. When I got my then new sewing machine, I did a sample log of all the stitches and designs it could do. Now I just keep a photo log of my quilts, but this is much nicer. Thanks for sharing.

I had not thought of keeping an actual block, I too, used to keep a photo but that was 30+ years ago. I should get back into the habit.

I have used the same idea but instead of batting used some felt that I had on hand. Made my pages about 16" and it works great for all sorts of blocks.

I think her idea was to keep her blocks in it when making a quilt, that way they stay flat and safe.
