Book Shelf Quilt

I've seen many quilts made to look like book shelves. I've started collecting my selvedges to make one. My dd wants to see what it'll look like, but I can't find a picture. Does anybody have a picture of one? Or a link?

Thanks

WoW! I never knew book shelf quilts were so popular and some very unique. Thank you Ranger.
I saw one on this board that used the white printed salvages.

I love this site. Thanks. Never knew that selvages could be used so many different ways. Hate to think of the ones that got away.

Beautiful!! This is the one I remember seeing. How long did you collect selvedges for this one? :)

Dorian - I am making a book shelf wall hanging for my "writer" son for Christmas. I was amazed at how many nice sites were recommended for you to look at. I googled book shelf quilts and found FREE patterns for some neat blocks. Just printed them off. I just received my pretty walnut fabric from online for the bookshelf itself. I am going to try printing off a picture of the books he has written onto fabric and incorporate those somehow. I hope to start next week. Have fun with yours.

Good luck in your finding the pattern.
Have a Blessed night

I had my guild members save them for me. it took about a year with help

I have just finished one. I haven't post pictures on the new site, so bear with me. Maybe it will end up in the picture group.

Well, I'm just going to have to go thru all my sewing waste baskets and retrieve those selveges...LOL\

I just had to remove a bookshelf from a wall to have an electric box installed and am covering it with wall hangings, this book shelf will be the ideal fix to hide the "ugly"

This is the bookcase quilt I'm working on. I now have all the books titled and about to put the shelves in between each panel. I found the project on line here: http://hp_paperpiecing.livejournal.c...ct%20of%20doom

Thanks for the link, Ranger. Lots of great bookshelf quilts.

That is a great quilt!! How did you quilt your book shelves?? I just finished piecing a 3 shelf wall hanging and I really don't want to do SID. The background for my shelves is black; which I would not do again, eventhough it does add depth. Just looking for some ideas.

Thanks for this thread. I had been looking for ideas for a bookshelf quilt!
