Border help!

I am getting close to being ready to sew together my star rose ( Jazz Hands) quilt blocks. I need to find a fabric that will fill in the zig zag lines and side triangles. There are so many colors here I am clueless on where to start and anything I audition has not looked right (yet) The edge of each block is called "grunge" kind of an antique tan looking fabric. Should I keep it neutral because there are already so many things going on here. Any thoughts? Many thanks! (sorry the blocks need another press)

I'd probably just use your "grunge" fabric and let your blocks shine. They're the stars of the show, uhm, quilt! :)

Are you planning to use sashing inbetween the block once they're square? There you might want to use a different colour, maybe a darker tan or brown. But I would keep it soft and fairly neutral.

Your blocks look great BTW, even without an additional press!

I have no advise for you. Just can't help but say those are such unique, beautiful blocks. Pls keep us updated w pictures.

I'd keep it neutral, maybe black or tan. Those are some beautiful, unique blocks. Can't wait to see what you do with them!

I would use black or dark chocolate brown. Will be a lovely quilt!!

I like what you have -- it lets the blocks show up nicely!

How about a good rich chocolate brown to set everything else off?

I, too like what your already using. It lets your blocks shine. This is going to be a beautiful quilt!!

What if you stitch the blocks together as they are now and add the side triangles in the grunge fabric.

I'd vote for navy or black, but dark brown could look nice, too.

Your blocks are GORGEOUS!! Wow, real eye candy. What about grey thread?

I might look to see if you just put the blocks together and let the centers 'float', how that appealed to you. Otherwise I would probably go for black for a sashing. Beautiful blocks, btw.

I would do a variety of auditioning and see what you like best. You could "float" them with using your background fabric or try a variety of sashing such as grey, black or dark brown. Keep trying until you find what you think is pleasing. Very nice blocks !!
