if I do a border I was thinking of about 3 inches and it will have to be in the white that I have used in the pattern...thank you for your opinions..............

Great D4P! If you want it a little bigger than add the white border. Cute polka dot fabrics.

Do you want to make it bigger? A narrow white border then another border of one the colors in the quilt would look nice. What color are you using for the binding? Is that a disappearing 4 patch with sashing? I really like it! Looks fresh and crisp.

i think it needs a border. the white should look fine.

Yes , it is D4P anbd I might have enough of the red or white to do the binding with, but that was the end of the purple pretty much..have another to make with green and yellow.......thank you

meant to red and teal

Thank you Tartan...I am thinking a white border as well...just wished I had bought more of the fabric when I was in Lethbridge , Alberta, but then didn't know what I was going to make...!!

Another vote for the white border here.

Lori S 08-18-2014 06:44 PM

I vote white too!

cathyvv 08-18-2014 07:05 PM

That is a great quilt - I love it! A white border would set it off nicely.

Jeanne S 08-18-2014 07:56 PM

Here is a vote for no border! I like it as is.

ManiacQuilter2 08-19-2014 03:51 AM

I am odd man out, I would just add more blocks. VERY pretty D4P !! Love the colors !!

nunnyJo 08-19-2014 03:52 AM

definetly a border for me

lfletcher 08-19-2014 04:53 AM

I really don't think it needs a border. Love the colors. This pattern is on my list of quilts to do.

Thank you all so very much for your help.....Patty

I like the idea of the white border then any colored fabric you have being used for the binding.
You can cut strips of the red and teal and join until it's big enough to go around if you have enough fabric left.

sewmuch 08-19-2014 12:49 PM

White border, you could use the red and teal both for binding..? Nice quilt..

red-warrior 08-20-2014 03:46 AM

White with a binding made from the scraps if you have enough.....or just the red would be beautiful. I love the quilt!

WMUTeach 08-20-2014 04:38 AM

I agree with QuiltnNan. I like the idea of a border in white to draw the eye to your beautiful work.

nanna-up-north 08-20-2014 05:29 AM

I usually add borders to get the quilt to the size I want. On this one, I'd add the border.... and white would look just fine.

wildyard 08-20-2014 08:09 AM

Odd person out here, I think I'd find a print with the colors in it and add a border in that. Because I like florals, I'd probably go with that, but a nice stripe would work also.

marilyn43 08-20-2014 08:30 AM

I think white. Beautiful quilt.

debbiemarie 08-20-2014 09:40 AM

I love this qult!!

MargeD 08-20-2014 11:39 AM

What a beautiful quilt, love your fabrics. The white fabric would look fine, especially as your picture shows the quilt with white on the outside. Great quilt.
