Usually having the wider top and bottom gives the top a nicer framed look. Are you going to have to piece the top and bottom? If so, it would be advisable to piece it directly in the middle to continue your plan of having the seams follow the seams on the cats. This would tend to make them all blend into the quilt rather than stand out. Love the cats (my daughter has been asking for a cat throw). I think it has just enough 'wild' print to make it pop.

I generally miter my borders, but think it won't matter which one you choose. Lovely quilt!

I'd do B but with diagonal seams in the vertical borders. It's stronger and better balanced. I'd stagger one diagonal seam high and one low. That's what I do.

Cute quilt. I would choose B. It might not matter, but just in case it does, I prefer having the top and bottom borders added last.

If you bring the top over the side borders it will add two more seams on the side borders. Those will also be in spots where you can ditch them like you are planning for the middle borders. I think that doing it that way will provide a bit of repetition of horizontal seams in the side borders that will help the placement of the central seam make more sense from a design perspective if it does show up after quilting.

I vote for B. Cute cats.

Love the cats, B is my vote as well. Love the cute black kitty facing his girlfriend.

I'm no help, I like both! I love this quilt with the yellow background and the two cats facing in the middle!!!

I think sides first and then top and bottom is what I've seen mostly in patterns unless they are mitered. If the sides are done last it makes the quilt look skinny even though it isn't.

"B" here too; I read somewhere - on here I think - that the sides go on first; then the top and bottoms, but guess it could be a personal preference. Think the B layout looks better though. Guess if it's square - it wouldn't matter.
