Interesting. I typically do mine like A but looking at the two drawings my eye prefers B. Guess I will be rethinking how I do this!

B is better balanced.

B is the way I usually do the borders on all of my quilts in order to use less of length of fabric. However, most people fold quilts in half, which will add stress and wear to that center seam when folding. It might be a good idea to use a diagonal seam, or cut one of the two strips in half and add it to the ends of the longer piece in order to disperse the weight and friction.

I would prefer B, this how I do mine.
Very pretty quilt top. |
I always do B ....looks nicer

I think B, that's the way I like to do most of my borders, there are less seams showing and if you need to have a seam in the bottom and top strips, they won't looked so pieced. Just my opinion.

I think it's supposed to be this way, because the black cat is the "odd cat out," but thought I'd check that the black cat is supposed to be facing the opposite way from the other cats.
I thought I'd post this just in case that was not your intention. There was a thread not too long ago where some people complained that they'd posted tops with errors and no one told them while it was in a stage where it could be fixed. |
