Trying to decide if I should make a scrappy border or leave it as is. Thought.

cashs_mom 09-24-2017 06:16 PM

I kind of like it as it is.

IngeMK 09-24-2017 06:24 PM

I like it as is, but it would look great with a border as well. Depends on the size you
are going for..

Faintly Artistic 09-24-2017 06:42 PM

I like it as is. How bout a scrappy binding?

Patchworkbarb 09-24-2017 06:43 PM

It's a x large baby quilt, was going for a full size, but I'm tired of making the blocks.

SusieQOH 09-24-2017 06:43 PM

As is. It's fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

slstitcher 09-24-2017 07:35 PM

How about putting on a 2 inch black border and a scrapy binding?

Patchworkbarb 09-24-2017 07:56 PM

I have already done a 2 inch border, but thought I might make a hst border to finish it off.

Irishrose2 09-24-2017 11:13 PM

I like it that size for a baby. I'd do a slightly wide, very bright binding and call it done.

Mkotch 09-25-2017 01:43 AM

Looks fabulous just the way it is. I think a border would distract, actually.

QuiltnNan 09-25-2017 02:54 AM

i like it as it is

Maureen NJ 09-25-2017 03:59 AM

Great quilt. I like it as is but would also like it with a border.

nabobw 09-25-2017 04:28 AM

I don't think it needs a border

Homespun 09-25-2017 04:42 AM

It looks great.

sprice 09-25-2017 04:48 AM

I think the black border frames the busy interior. It's great as is!

ArtsyOne 09-25-2017 05:36 AM

I wouldn't add another border since the black one that you have frames the colorful center quite nicely. I would add a multi-colored binding though. Love your quilt!

Tartan 09-25-2017 05:41 AM

Very pretty! If you want to add a border, a wide border in one of the batik colours would be nice. I think a pieced border would take away from the lovely piecing in the top.

Annie68 09-25-2017 05:56 AM

Leave as is.

Snooze2978 09-25-2017 11:17 AM

I'm a "border person", so for a suggestions maybe add a smaller strip of color around the quilt, which ever color you want to bring out the most and then add a larger border of the black again. If you machine quilt you can use a varigated thread on the larger black border to add color to it. Love the vibrant colors you used in this quilt. Possibly use black or dark grey thread, or even a varigated thread to quilt the body of the quilt.

What a gorgeous quilt!

Like Snooze, I am a border person. I would consider something like this, but with black instead of white:

Its a file I saved on my computer, so I have no idea who to credit it to.

paoberle 09-26-2017 03:52 AM

I like it as it is; however, you could do a thin scrappy border the same size as the black and then a black binding.

red-warrior 09-26-2017 04:20 AM

Just beautiful and you can not go wrong what ever you decide!

Jo Anne B. 09-26-2017 04:39 AM

I like as it is! Fun quilt!! Love the brights!

mojo11 09-26-2017 04:59 AM

Beautiful. I like it as is.

carolynjo 09-26-2017 05:11 AM

I agree!!!!!

SherB 09-26-2017 05:44 AM

I like it as it is. What a beautiful job you have done!

pkelly1947 09-26-2017 05:57 AM

I like it as is. Great quilt top!

Innov8R 09-26-2017 11:21 AM

It's so pretty as it is, I can't imagine improving it with a border.

Jordan 09-26-2017 12:10 PM

Very pretty and colorful quilt. Maybe a piano key border using same fabrics as in the quilt and then a black binding. Another option is to just make a scrappy binding which would be pretty too. Please share a pic when you decide.

katesnanna 09-26-2017 02:21 PM

I would leave it as is because the black frames it.

sJens 09-27-2017 01:32 PM

I like your quilt the way it is. Have one that looks quite a bit like yours and I took one of my block fabrics to make the border.
