The brown border frames the blocks beautifully.

jitkaau 05-11-2011 05:32 AM

The brown inner border frames it well. I prefer that version.

CorneliaVa 05-11-2011 05:38 AM

Oops.... I was late in first response ... board members are SOOOO fast in responding at once....

I checked back to page 2 ... Yes, I agree ... putting the brown as the first inner border bleeds into the basic pattern too much .... your first configuration is better ....

I tried that arrangement and posted the picture on page 2 but in my opinion it didn't turn out quite as attractive as the neutral inner border, especially when I remove the lines in EQ7. I'll try to get another picture without the lines when I get home from work. :)

The one with the brown, using all three solids looks great to me.

My thought exactly. Gorgeous quilt! :-D

I like it with the brown.

I actually tried that setup on page 2 and I think it made the colors feel too "heavy" in some way. Thank you, though! All of the fabrics are so soft... I can't wait to finish my current UFO so that I can move on to this project.

quiltingnonie 05-11-2011 06:02 AM

I would definitely use the brown, but perhaps make it an inch or so wider than the cream. Lovely fabric choices!

noahscats7 05-11-2011 06:03 AM

Really like the last pic. Oops... the last one on page 1.

JoAnnGC 05-11-2011 06:27 AM

I love your version with the narrow brown border (first one on p.2). I love the warm wishes pattern and your colors and fabric choices are so pretty :)

Me too.

I like the brown border too

TootieAnn 05-11-2011 06:50 AM

I like the brown border. I think it adds some depth to the quilt.

CBAKER 05-11-2011 06:55 AM

The brown :D :D

Darlene516 05-11-2011 07:48 AM

I like the brown border.

I like the brown inner border as well. It frames you quilt nicely.

Bluequilter 05-11-2011 08:27 AM

I agree, I like the brown border added. Beautiful quilt!

jdeery 05-11-2011 08:34 AM

Brown inner border.

Kathleen charnell 05-11-2011 09:22 AM

border # 2

lauriequilts 05-11-2011 09:48 AM

I really like the way it looks with the brown border. It brings out the colors more.

Iamquilter 05-11-2011 09:53 AM

I like the brown border and also agree the borders should not all be the same size.

grammysharon 05-11-2011 10:07 AM

I agree, I think the brown brings your eye out to the border.

I think both look good but I like the brown border best.

sewmorethings 05-11-2011 10:30 AM

Like the brown border, looks like it should be there love the pattern.

trolleystation 05-11-2011 10:32 AM

The brown looks really good. The more borders the better. Mine almost always have at least three.

ButtermilkMama 05-11-2011 10:43 AM

I also like the brown bordwr!!!!

rona thickpenny 05-11-2011 10:57 AM

Both look good but my choice would be the one with brown in it.

Very pretty. I like the brown inner border.

lovelyl 05-11-2011 03:29 PM

I like the one with the brown border. It seems like a more finished quilt to me.

bigsister63 05-11-2011 04:57 PM

I like the brown inner border but I think that you should audition another pink print for the outer border.

kaygee 05-11-2011 05:19 PM

I know about flanges and I think they look great and would look fantastic on your quilt in the brown. Have never done one myself but will be doing so in the near future. Always nice to try something different.

EdieClay 05-11-2011 05:23 PM

I love the brown inner border. Good job.

quilter in the making 05-11-2011 05:36 PM

I really like the original width brown border that's the same width as the cream border. Makes everything more cohesive and soothing to the eye. Having the cream, then the skinny brown and then the jump to the wide pink border seems to make it more jarring to the eye. JMHO only for what little it's worth. :) It's gorgeous no matter what you decide.

katigirl 05-11-2011 11:40 PM

Second design is even better than the first and that was great. lol.

laalaaquilter 05-12-2011 03:37 AM

Love the way the brown makes the field kind of 'float' within the pink.

Eileen 05-12-2011 04:40 AM

I like both, but I think the brown border makes the pink stand out more. Sending up prayers for your aunt.

Shorebird 05-13-2011 01:31 PM

WITH the brown border. It really sets off the blocks.
