I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever made a quilt without top and bottom borders. I am making a flying geese quilt with a strip of fabric in between each flying geese strip and it looks good without any border on the top and bottom. Just wondering

Sure. I have done a number of quilts with no borders. If it looks good, go for it! There really are no rules when it comes to quilting designs.

Yes, do whatever looks best for the quilt. That is what really counts. GOOD LUCK !!!

It is the quilter's choice. Good Luck.

With or without borders, as long as you like the look. Please show us a picture?

I well if I can just figure out how to do it.

It's your quilt, do what you want. If you like it without borders, don't put any on. I have made quite a few w/o borders and the persons that received them didn't mind that they didn't have borders.

It's your quilt. Make it how you think it looks good.
|
of course it's ok. it's your quilt and you are its designer

I have made several with out borders. Alot of the old time quilts didn't have borders.
|
Your quilt, your rules. If it looks good without those borders then go ahead and do it that way.

I never put top & bottom boarders on, because I never learned how. The quilting class I was going to take, had to be cancled do to others illness. I just turn both top & bottom in about 1" starting in the middle of the top and working both ways out from there. I then do each side & the bottom like wise I use long stick pins close together. That is you are talking about hemming it. I do put some boarders on to match or contrast on top quilts.

i make tons without borders and i typically do a facing instead of binding.

Oh sure, you don't have to add borders if you don't want them. Sometimes it looks better without.
