Borders
I bought the Kathy Alyce Flip Flop book and it is great. I am working on my quilt and after only 3 rows think it is quite pretty. The border is my problem. She lays the border fabric under the quilt and cuts to match the curves and then sews, ok so far. I don't have enough room for the long side to do that when done so that I am not moving it around and needs to be precise. Any suggestions at all?

go to your library really early and ask if you can slide 3 tables together for an hour... they will probably be perfectly happy to have a 'practical demo' going on.... get a couple of quilting books and scatter in the area, be prepared to chat with anyone who comments, to tidy up after yourself (take some masking tape for stray threads) and accompany your request with a plate of brownies.... if you are there early before many people come in, i'm sure they will be perfectly nice about it...

What about your church, do they have an area where you could push tables together? I visited your fair city many years ago. It is a beautiful area with the water and mountains.
