Bosal Foam for purses and totes

What has been your experience using Bosal In-R-Form Plus? I used it for a patchwork tote and it gives great body.
However, I had a difficult time fusing it to my cotton piecing(no instructions in package for fusing). Also, was wondering if you need to change the tension on the sewing machine because when I sewed front to back, the stitches of the seam were visible when completed. Thank you in advance.

I just bought a package of the unfusable kind. I have not use it as yet so I cannot help. I am glad to hear it gives great body.

I've used it for the totes that I made using Jenny (MSQC). I did iron it, but also sewed. I guess I didn't pay close attention as to if it really "stuck" to the fabric.

I made the Improv Tote from MSQC's Mod Block magazine with the In-R-Form Plus and loved it. The directions from that read "Lay the 'second' piece RST on the 'first' and stitch them together through the 2 layers of fabric and foam interfacing. Using only the tip of the iron, tack the fabric open to expose the right sides of both pieces. . . . When entire foam triangle is covered in fabric, give your patchwork a good press to fuse the fabrics to the foam." I didn't have to change the tension on my machine and didn't have an issue with the stitches showing. Hope this helps.

I used it for a bionic gear bag but it wasn't the fusible. I just cut it 1/4" smaller all around and used some SF101 to sort of "tape" it to the edges. It was a lot of work using it. I think my next bionic gearbag will not have it.

I was thinking about using it for the bionic gear bag also. Then thought it might be too stiff/heavy.

It made the BGB very round. If you do try it, be sure to allow extra on the ends of the cover when you trim. I trimmed 2" on one end and 1.5" on the other but an extra 1/4 or 1/2 inch would have been better.
