bottom of the bed throw

I am looking for a very elegant throw for the bottom of the bed....... I know you can use any pattern, just haven't found the elegance I'm looking for..

Any suggestions

What is your idea of elegant? Sometimes it may just depend on the fabrics that are used.

Jinny Beyer's "Bali Bed Runner" I think is quite elegant.

Thanks, this gives me a lot of ideas. It is for My SIL who's house is like ultra modern very little color.

I am already starting my Christmas....

Maybe something in washable silks or suedes or both. Unusual mixture of fabrics is frequently considered very modern and chic and the color scheme would be the elegant factor.

Dupioni silk and raw silk are actually fairly easy to work with. They're not slippery and slidey and they hold a nice crease. The do ravel pretty bad though so you may want to use a bigger seam allowance.

I forgot to add, there are a couple of books out with bed runner patterns and one of the books also has shams, pillowcases and throw pillow patterns in it. That one is called Make Your Bed.
