My tote is almost a year old and it's fine. I just take it out when I wash the bag and replace it when it's dry

I've heard that you can use a warped cutting mat cut it into pieces to use for the bottoms of bags. Haven't tried it ye.

That is what I use too. The two layers of plastic canvas. A neighbor moved and gave me tons of it. It makes them truely washable when you are finished. I have thought about using some new vynal floor tiles I have left over from an old home project too. I thought if you pealed off the paper and stuck them together it would be a nice width and washable too. I would cut them to size with a shop razor blade holder and straight edge.

You might need tin snips or something heavy duty like that to cut through them.

I use the mat board( the kind you would use to cut your own mats for around pictures) you can get from a craft store. Cut to size for each purse and I make a sleeve for it from the liner fabric.

One of the things I was thinking about was washing the bag - I hadn't thought about the fact I could just cover the support for the bottom and take it out. Gosh, I'm slow sometimes!

I bought some of the Artbin plastic containers to store my quilt projects in and the dividers they have in them are perfect for the bottoms. Watch out when yours is done everyone you know will want one.I've made 11 so far,working on one for my sister-in law now.
