My tote is almost a year old and it's fine. I just take it out when I wash the bag and replace it when it's dry

I've heard that you can use a warped cutting mat cut it into pieces to use for the bottoms of bags. Haven't tried it ye.

That is what I use too. The two layers of plastic canvas. A neighbor moved and gave me tons of it. It makes them truely washable when you are finished. I have thought about using some new vynal floor tiles I have left over from an old home project too. I thought if you pealed off the paper and stuck them together it would be a nice width and washable too. I would cut them to size with a shop razor blade holder and straight edge.

I didn't buy the hard wooden bottoms they were selling for the bags. Is it necessary to use one of those? I'm just curious - I haven't even checked out the pattern yet to see what I need or how complicated it is. I tend to just jump right in.... Thanks for any suggestions or help you guys have on this! |
You all have such great ideas! :)
Thanks again! One of the things I was thinking about was washing the bag - I hadn't thought about the fact I could just cover the support for the bottom and take it out. Gosh, I'm slow sometimes! Thanks again! |
I bought some of the Artbin plastic containers to store my quilt projects in and the dividers they have in them are perfect for the bottoms. Watch out when yours is done everyone you know will want one.I've made 11 so far, working on one for my sister-in law now.
