I use core board. You can get it is a couple of different thicknesses. It also makes the bag much lighter.

I read somewhere to use old cutting mats for bag bottoms.

I use 2 layers of plastic canvas then use trial & error on size. It's so easy to trim. I make a pillowcase like cover for it since it can also be washed.

I've heard of people going to the dollar store and getting placemats to use.

Maybe1day, Once you make your first one you will want to make more. They get easire as you make more.

I had another look at it yesterday after I finished my canning, looked for the lost pattern book (which I found) and may have a go at completing it this afternoon. Have some cooking to do this morning.
