Does anyone know if there is an instructional video on youtube for the bowtucks bag?
|
I haven't seen any yet
|
Do you have specific questions on the bow tucks?
I may be able to help...... : ) |
Well, nothing specific....just from start to finish. I have some pretty expensive fabric that I want to make my DIL a bag and I don't want to mess it up. I have read and reread the instructions. I finally found some of that fusible fleece stuff. So I guess I iron that on the front first and then lay the back side on and then quilt it? Then probably cut it out and then start sewing? I guess I put this fusible fleece on the front and back side of the bag but not the ends? Like I said...nothing specific.

then you sew the top pieces to the bottom pieces again along the longest edges. |
I usually do most of the prep sewing first, then do the fusing to the pieces that get the fusible fleece.
then do your quilting on the 4 large pieces that get quilted --each piece is quilted individually. You do not quilt the lining to the outside pieces. |
My fabric is not pre-quilted, so do I quilt with the fleece in it or no?

then you will quilt each of those 4 fused pieces individually. Do NOT quilt them together. Make sense?? |
The instructions I had were a little hard to follow. You do fuse the fusible fleece to the front and lining pieces but than you quilt them all separately. After that you get to join them.
