What do you consider Jewel Tone colors for fabrics? What would be a Quality line of fabric to look at for Bright Jewel Tone Fabrics? I would appreciate any help you can give me.
I should have said in the marble collections. Timeless Treasures Marble Mania is very nice but I am not sure what would be considered Jewel Tone and is there regular jewel tone a bright jewel tone???

I love using batiks in jewel tones and Shadowplay by Maywood. They have every color you could ever want, including jewel tones. When defining jewel tones, think of the major jewels and their colors - sapphire, ruby, amethyst, topaz, etc. They tend to be more saturated than other colors.

any of the batik lines like hoffman or moda are good. I also like connecting threads batiks. they are thinner but really good and soft. you just kinda have to hit the stores and look at them. I have a beautiful dark purple jewel batik that I just love that i actually got a joanns. so there is no real right or wrong place to find a good batik. but that is just me.

Lynda, thanks, I guess I never thought about it that way. Looking at this color card makes my eye go right to the bright colors which I assume would be considered the jewel tones.

By the way, we moved to Wyoming from Ohio--40 miles southwest of Cleveland.

Moda Swirls has a a lot of jewel tones. I have a Jewel Box quilt with the Swirls and black on my design wall right now. I think I have 13 different colors, but I did use a little of the pale pink and light yellow.

We are about 40 miles southwest of Toledo. We moved here from New Hampshire and really like it.

A lot of the fabrics in my avatar quilt are jewel tones ... and they were just odds and sods from my stash!

I'm kind of a purist with regard to words and how they're used, and I consider "Jewel tones" to be the tones of the jewel stones - emerald, ruby, saphire etc. Pretty much primary and secondary colors, no pastels or muted tones.

Kona solids, lots of batiks (I'm even starting to see more true red batiks), Kaffe Fasset re just a few.

Sapphires and diamonds come in pink and diamonds come in yellow, so I can still use them in a Jewel Box quilt, IMO. I understand what you mean, though. I just realized I don't have a true sapphire blue, but it's too late now. I have a dark periwinkle and a teal, but no blue.
