Broken Herringbone Pattern ???
 
When I cut the top of the sides off to be sewn back onto the bottom ...... they are different widths.... ?? Anybody done this or similar ?!?

Ive done the herringbone but it was different than the picture, it was like a floor single pieces not double. There was nowhere as much cutting and lining up to do although the straight line cuts were hard work making sure accurate.ed I did have a pattern gave it away after.

When you even it off, you wind up with bias edges which need to be handled with care as they can stretch easily. This would have been a good time to starch the fabric before cutting.

When ever you are dealing with bias edges, you have to be so CAREFUL and not let the fabric stretch. I don't see anything off that much in the photo. Bias is NOT any quilter's friend, you just have to be on guard and on your tippy toes to keep it corralled! :)
