Brother LS2350 needle and bobbin questions
Hello. My mom gave me a Brother LS2350 sewing machine for my daughter's use. My question is can I get universal needles for this machine or would it need specific Brother brand needles (if they make them.) I really have no idea and would like some direction.
Also, would I need to get Brother bobbins? I think it states the size but making sure if they need to be brand name or not. Thanks so much! |
I use Schmetz needles (found at JAF) for my Bernina. With bobbins, I use ones made specifically for my Bernina.

I am pretty sure it takes standard sewing machine needles and a class 15 bobbin. You can get them both at JoAnn Fabrics, Hancocks, on line, in a quilting store, etc. They are very common. Brother mechanical machines are pretty nice. i have three of them. One similar to yours.

This online store lists all the parts is has that fit your machine:
http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bro...ine-parts.aspx . From the website above, it is clear that the bobbins need to be plastic. Metal bobbins will eventually wear out the bobbin area of a machine that uses plastic bobbins. The bobbins do need to be the correct style. When you purchase bobbins at Walmart and other places, typically you can check the back of the card to see what machines they fit. This is how you make sure that the size and style of the bobbin is correct for your machine. As far as I know, Schmetz needles will fit any modern machine. I believe only a few of the vintage machines require specialized needles. A lot of vintage Singer machines work better with Singer needles. You can download a free manual for this machine here: https://www.manualowl.com/p/Brother%.../Manual/183189 The manual should tell you about bobbins and needles, plus other information that will be useful to you. https://www.manualowl.com/p/Brother%.../Manual/183189 |
Thanks! My husband found the manual and printed it out for us. Thanks again!
