I am considering buying this Brother machine. Does anyone have one, and if so, would you recommend it? Or would anyone recommend a different machine for embroidering and downloading patterns from Internet sources to a flash drive then load onto the sewing machine? I appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks.

Did you do a search here using the search feature above? There are probably threads about it.

I don't have it but do have a PE700II. I belong to several embroidery groups and have read good reviews on the PE770. Do you have a chance to test drive it?

I did a search and got some information, but I am wondering if this Brother is the best one for the money--the 400 is less expensive, but I would like as many features as possible for my budget.

Nanamoms, I can get a test drive at a store in nearby Kansas, just have to make the trip!

I ordered one for my daughter and it is great! Has worked like a charm since she hooked it up last January. She was a newbie and this machine is very user-friendly. It comes with the 5x7 hoop and we also bought a 4x4 hoop. It has done everything she has asked of it and she loves it!

Nanajan, this sounds encouraging. Thanks for your answer

my sister and i both have the 770 and love it. it has been so easy to learn, does a great stitch and there are so many free designs. i've been doing my blue jeans and using a quilting motif to do the centers of the double weddign ring i'm doing for my mom. she's been doing tshirts for her grandbaby. the only thing that was a problem was the automatic needle threader. my sisters came off in the box. and the company wants you to send it in to get it put back on. mine i was very careful unpacking and got it set up with the needle threader. never could get it to work and finally just took it off. the machine is very easy to thread without it. in fact, i usually just keep the metallic needle in it for everything. the metallic needle has a larger eye and is easy to thread.

but overall we love our machines and i would buy another one.

Ann31039, thanks for your input. I'm glad to know that owners really like this machine. Getting closer to a decision now.
