Brother QC 2000 - anyone else have one too?
 

Oh my.... Hope I have made the right decision, I have just bought a new sewing machine

I have a Pfaff 1530 that I bought in May of this year (used). She has helped me make 6 lap quilts and I love her.... I am keeping her, but she does not like to quilt very much. So, after researching and armed with my list of needs from a machine off I went to the LQS.

They sell Brother, Bernina and Pfaff. Brother won me over. I am still recovering though, big purchase for likes of a newbie like me! I have to wait a couple of days before I can pick him up.

If you are refering to the QC-1000 I used to have the espire which I really loved, traded up for another brother, and love this one even more than the espire(QC-1000). for FMQ even though it doesn't have a big harp like the janome, it has the AHA feature which keeps the tension on your stitches really good even with FMQ

It is a Brother Inovis QC2000... Well that is how it is branded in Aus. And yes it does have something called AHA :)
It seems to have all features except a built in walking foot like the IDT from Pfaff. I am looking for info but all I can see that resembles it is a Laura Ashley Model selling in the US. This one does not have a large harp but way bigger than my little Pfaff :)

I am so happy you love your Brother machine. I must say it certainly impressed me at the shop with how smooth it sewed and what it could do.

it has a harp similar to my Juki. That's plenty of harp space to quilt even up to a king sized quilt [but i prefer not to go that big again]

If its the laura ashley than it is the predecessor to my espire(QC-1000) in that it has more stitches than mine did. They are great piecers, never had the IDT but the brothers have always been great piecers so have never had a need for it, my walking foot served me well just more cumbersome to removed but I always left one on my cheapie machine if I needed to use it frequently. I have always been impressed with brother, even the cheap ones piece really well. thae harp is decent space to quilt. I have the one now that is bigger than the janomes, and was extremely impressed with the dual fit foot so had to trade in my espire for the new technology even though I loved her for several years

The link that Nancy posted is exactly what my machine is. A quilter friend of mine is also checking this one out so it is great to read your opinion.

I have two Brother machines and love them both. I think you will be happy.

LOVE my Brother machine. Had it for 3 years with no problems. I tell my husband it is all I will ever need. Works like a dream.

I know this is an old thread, but I just came across it today. Do you still have your brother QC2000 Stitcherlee? I purchased mine today, she's gorgeous but there's so much to read up on!

Oh Stitcherlee. I LOVE your Avatar. I have always loved the breed of Westies but didn't know that they were also in Australia. I was lucky to have two in my life, Macbeth and Tess. Such a pretty companion.
