BSR tension issue

Am brand new to the BSR. As I quilt the tension is "off" with the bobbin thread showing on top. Still a bit nervous about making changes (880). I went to tension and increased and decreased, but no change. Then set it right back to factory settings. I would know what to do if I was sewing rather than using the BSR for the first time. Would appreciate any info on this issue. Thank you.

Don't own a BSR but for any tension issues I re-thread top and bottom and change needles. . . .just a thought.

Pekish posted this link in another spot. Hope it helps.

On my 440 there is a tiny hole in the bobbin finger. If yours has that, you might try threading the thread through the hole to see if that helps your tension.

Did you try increasing the bobbin tension?

Bernina Stitch Regulator

Is the tension okay without using the BSR?

I have the 820, so virtually the same machine .... yours just has more stuff on it! :)

When you said that you increased and decreased, but no change ....
..... Did you change it slightly? or to an extreme?

Don't be afraid to adjust it a huge amount, either direction, to get it right.
Sometimes I find it's a big adjustment to get the tension right.

I often use different threads (colour and/or type of thread) in the top/bottom,
so getting the tension right is really important as any pokeys would really show.

I should have thought of that! I'm on it. Thank you

Small increments. I'm still a bit nervous about "touching" things. I'll try larger increments. Thank you
