Buttons sewn on by machine....

Am so proud of myself for using my sewing machine to sew on 40 buttons to a table topper called Grandmas Button Box..Was a little nervous.Just wondering how many of you have used your machine for that?If I knew how to post I would show a pix.....

That is the only way to sew buttons on. Fast and easy.

In over 40 decades, never did it. Guess it's about time to try...

I have sewn buttons on my machine for years. Love it. I also would love to see a picture of the quilt.

I usually use my machine for sewing buttons. It's so quick and easy and I think they stay on very well.

I think my machine has that capability. You inspire me to try since I hope to use buttons to 'tie' a top, rather than thread.

Just did that yesterday on a bag. Worked great.

Since I'm not a fan of hand sewing, anything I can do by mechanical means gets a plus in my book. I've sewn buttons by machine since forever!! :)

I love sewing buttons on by machine! I never do it any other way. Once I got it figured out, I have never been able to stop.,

I have sewn buttons on with my machine, but it has been a while.

I have been wanting to try this.........did you use a special foot on your machine?

onaemtnest 11-05-2011 10:41 AM

Along with others I ask how? Or does every machine do it differently? It seems intriging!

Mary O 11-05-2011 03:31 PM

Check your machine manuals for sewing on buttons. You need a darning foot with mine. Can't believe I've had my machine for 7 yrs and this was a 1st for me......
