After following this board for a couple of years, let me just say that I am a quilting board junkie. . . along with most of you. :) I love it. I also figure, if you can't help me find it. . . then it "ain't" out there. I made my daughters Cabbage Patch dolls 30+ years ago. With several moves between then and now, I have lost my pattern. Can anyone help me find a pattern? I have a 9 month GD and on on the way. I would love to make one for each of them. I thank you in advance for your help and all your inspiration.

I made those dolls, too. They were really cute. I hope that you find a pattern.

LAB55 02-28-2011 03:52 PM

I remember making them also. I may still have the pattern, I know I have a pattern for a few outfits.
I will look for it in the next few days and send you a PM to let you know.

http://www.ehow.com/how_4969065_make...doll-face.html might help?

quilt queen 2 02-28-2011 04:03 PM

I'll check too as I made these many years ago but may have kept the pattern.

IrelandDragonQuilting 02-28-2011 04:03 PM

And another one, just tells you who to do it, but might help you remember :)

---------------------------------
This site says the price rose as supplies got low, but here I remember standing in line in the rain, with lots of other eager buyers for the limited amounts they got each Thursday. Once a week they got them. And the price remained the same, I got them for grand kids in Texas where they were absolutely not available. As we came up to the counter in our turn, we were handed the first box the clerks grabbed, and plunked down our 28 or so dollars. Then we would stand around saying "I have a black haired boy, need a red headed little girl", and most of the time we were able to trade right there. One GD still has all hers, took about 18 of them with her to college!!!

Butterflyblue 02-28-2011 05:32 PM

I think you might be able to find the patterns on Ebay.

IrelandDragonQuilting 02-28-2011 06:25 PM

I love finding things and have gone on the hunt and now seeing these dolls they are sooooo cute!! I found this one called a Dinky Newborn baby doll http://www.createforless.com/Dinky+B...utm_medium=cse

And it is wicked cute! Like I need one more project but I can so think of some little girls who would so love that doll!!

granniesan 02-28-2011 11:32 PM

Thank you all so much for going on the hunt for me. I knew I should have come to you in the beginning. I am getting closer. You all are the greatest!

granniesan 02-28-2011 11:33 PM

Absolutely wicked! He/She looks very promising. Thank you. You are a fabulous hunter!

granniesan 02-28-2011 11:34 PM

I made these dolls too, and sold them at flea market in Houston, Texas...

I had a girl come in the flea market and begged me to make her one day before Christmas Eve, this is when the cabbage patch dolls first came out.

Lets just say with tears in her eyes how could I say no? LOL she had one for Christmas.

I even had my mom and dad helping me, mom help sew and dad stuffed...

I have Xavier Roberts book, but can not find pattern pieces.
If you would like the book send me a PM.

xsquilter 03-01-2011 06:11 AM

I have a pattern! See, sometimes I wonder why I keep certain things....this just goes to show me that I KNEW someone would want this!!! It certainly is old....$3 for a pattern! Wow, those were the days! I had boys who weren't into Cabbage Patch so I never used the pattern & the iron-on transfers are still inside!
Okay, enough babbling!!! Off to PM the requester!

Just sent you a PM Frugalfabrics. Hope you still have them!

momski 05-29-2011 02:52 PM

OMG! My aunt made one for me growing up and I absolutely "loved" the thing to death, literally. She made me a second one that my mom had tucked away for safekeeping. I only found out about a few years ago. I can't wait until I have a little girl to pass it on to. Unfortuantly, my aunt is no longer with us so it truly is a special treasure of mine.

I guess I can say, thanks for passing on the love ;)

eastermarie 05-29-2011 02:58 PM

I made lots of those back in the early 80's.

Just sent you a reply...power has been out here...we had bad storms come thru earlier today. Thankfully, we didn't take a direct hit...it went a little south of us.

Kappy 05-29-2011 04:47 PM

I remember making them for my daughter also. Except you could buy the heads and just make the cloth body. Couldn't afford "the real thing", but my daughter loved the one I made just as much! Those were the days

frugalfabrics 05-29-2011 04:48 PM

I remember my mom and grandma making a few to sell in crafts shows now that I think about it. They use actual baby clothes.

Glad you were spared by the storm. You are an angel. THANK YOU!

sorry i see this is a old thread, but i'm on a mad search for a cabbage patch pattern, me and my bestie was saving things for the kids shelter for this coming up christmas, however it seems that dolls are usually a top request we both had original cabbage patch dolls growing up the roberts ones, and i've seen patterns that are pretty close, was hoping to find a free one. i found one but its hard to see what she's doing to the face area, and it has a funky body lol.... does anyone have one like the cabbage patch dolls? thanks either way!

Cabbage Patch Doll Pattern

I know this is an extremely old thread. I have 3 copies of Xavier Roberts publication "Little People Pals". 1 has full pattern so could make copies of pattern. 1 has partial pattern and 1 without pattern.
