Southeast coast, down from Port Aux Basques...Grand Bruit.
My parents moved to Ontario when I was young, so we spent alot of summers going "home". I haven't been down in about 10 years, and now that they have closed alot of the little outports, my next trip will have to be to explore the island. I sure do miss the "Rock"!

SO you are from St. John's I guess.....
Are there lots of great quilt shops down home.......

There are a few good LQSs. There is a nice one in CBS called Piecemakers and one on Hamlyn Road by the Village Mall. Also there is one in Harcourt in the Clarenville area and one in Carmanville. I haven't been to the last two but they may be worth a road trip in the spring.

She is gorgeous! How does she fare in the California heat?

She does great in California because my husband spoils her more than me and has the air conditioner on for her.

My dad was stationed there in WW2, does that count?

Where? Did he marry a Newfoundland girl, like thousands of US servicemen did?

He was at argentia newfoundland naval base. He later was at Cornell University for officer training and married a New York girl from Rochester. He later drug her off (LOL) to Nebraska to spend the rest of her life.

BTW, they are both still living and are only a few miles from me. One of my first quilts was a red/white/blue rail fence for my dad, and then a more subdued quilt for my mom.
