Camden Bowls by Aunties Two Patterns
Have you made one of these? Is it necessary to use the Bosal or can you use cotton batting like W&N? Thanks for your input!

Depends which bosal product is in the materials list. If they specify either the single or double fusible, I would say no, if they specify the sew in (non-fusible) you can try W&N, but the bosal gives a much firmer result.

They recommend Duet Fuse II which is a double sided fusible batting already cut into strip size. Guess I will need to get some for this project.

I was watching videos by Aunties Two on youtube just last night. They show how to make the tubes and she explained the double fusible batting makes for a firmer tube that will stand straighter. She said you can use W&N but the tubes will be more flimsy and not stand as firm.

Christine...do you have a link to those youtube? I have the supplies to make these. I didn't think about checking youtube for help.
Thanks much! |
Here's their channel on youtube, they have quite a few videos that are very helpful. I'm making their 20 strip bag pattern. If you're making the camden bowls, watch the "20 strip bag sewing the strips" video, it will be helpful when you make the tubes for the camden bowls.
